Attorney Caitlyn Cournoyer

Caitlyn Cournoyer is a zealous advocate first and an attorney second. Joining the Bhatt Law Group, Caitlyn brings a wealth of experience in criminal, family, administrative law, equipping her to effectively navigate the complexities of the legal system on behalf of her clients.

Caitlyn earned her law degree from Vermont Law School, where she specialized in criminal law and graduated as the top criminal law student in her class and was the Captain of the Mock Trial team. Caitlyn began her legal career by working as a student prosecutor with the State’s Attorney’s office in Vermont. As a Student Prosecutor she litigated alongside prosecutors on a variety of criminal matters. During her time at the prosecutor’s office Caitlyn participated in multiple jury trials and various legal proceedings. Caitlyn’s experience on the prosecution side gives her unique perspective that allows her to analyze cases from both sides.

After graduating from law school in 2023, Caitlyn secured a Judicial Clerkship at the Passaic County Superior Court in the Criminal Division. This invaluable experience allowed her to deepen her understanding of criminal law and refine her skills in case analysis, ensuring that her clients receive thorough and strategic representation. Caitlyn is committed to protecting her clients’ rights and pursuing the best possible outcomes in their cases.

After her clerkship, Caitlyn spent time in the non-profit world as a Staff Attorney at Legal Services of New Jersey. During her time at Legal Services Caitlyn represented low-income clients in various administrative legal matters. Caitlyn has dedicated her legal career to advocating for those who may not be able to advocate for themselves.

Outside of her legal work, Caitlyn enjoys spending quality time with friends and family, is an avid scuba diver, and loves to attend as many Yankees games as possible.
